Description

BOZAR, Tate Liverpool and the Folkwang Museum organise a large retrospective of the iconic American artist Keith Haring (1958-1990). Through enormous drawings and paintings, videos, collages, posters, painted objects and murals, you get a glimpse of the artist’s short and powerful career in the vibrant New York art scene of the early 1980s. Haring was involved in the fight against drugs, aids, apartheid and the nuclear arms race. His main ambition was to make 'public art' that he distributed through his Pop Shop boutique and the channels of mass media, in collaboration with Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat. An exhibition to look forward to.
