Music - Painting
A recital by Bernard Foccroulle on a harpsichord built by Jean-Luc Wolfs-Dachy modeled after the harpsichord of Johannes Ruckers (1624) preserved at the Unterlinden Museum in Colmar. Fabienne Verdier has produced an exceptional collection of four pieces for this new instrument paving the way for new encounters between painting and music.
For the Festival ARTONOV, Bernard Foccroulle created a program allowing the old and the new to resonate with the paintings of Fabienne Verdier. Each painting will be matched to a counterpoint excerpt from The Art of the Fugue by J.S. Bach.
The harpsichord is an instrument which marked the Renaissance and Baroque periods and is now making a remarkable comeback. The public is invited to rediscover its old and new facets and to overcome the artificial divisions of the cultures of yesterday and today.
