GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN! We have missed you!ADVICE AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR VISIT TO OUR EXHIBITIONS FROM 19 MAYThis exhibition will be extended until 21 July 2020. If you already bought a ticket, it will remain valid until the new end date of the exhibition. The exhibition The World as a Pavilion. Vjenceslav Richter presents a reflection on the work of Croatian architect Vjenceslav Richter (1917-2002), using the pavilion as a metaphor and a spatial concept where architecture and the visual arts meet.Indeed, the whole body of Richter’s work – whether his artistic production, his architectural projects or his town planning models – is based on a systematic repetition of small units. Moreover, the phenomenon of pavilions reveals something of the changing position of architecture in culture and its relationship with the visual arts, as well as the various 20th-century cultural policies throughout the world. The exhibition provides an overview of Richter’s experimental activity and research between the late 1940s and the late 1990s. During this period, he produced a number of unique architectural projects and works of art, alongside other significant examples of pavilions and artistic installations, to nourish a more global reflection on historical and contemporary cultural models.BOZAR and the MSU (Zagreb Museum of Contemporary Art) are pleased to join forces to organise this exhibition as part of the Croatian European Union Presidency.
