Kiosk Radio unites the Brussels’ music scene for a summer of live streams. From 29 June till 21 September, Brussels’ first online community radio will be on a tour around the most iconic music spots in the city - including Ancienne Belgique and Botanique - temporarily closed due to coronavirus.
Kiosk Radio is an online community radio streaming 24/7 from a wooden shack in the heart of Brussels’ historic “Parc Royal”. In less than 3 years, the radio and its annexed kiosk bar became the city’s main meeting point for music lovers. Kiosk Radio already boasted collaborations with renowned international festivals including Dour and Dekmantel, and was recently awarded Best New Media 2019 by Red Bull Elektropedia.
In order to support the local music scene hardly hit by the Covid-19 crisis, Kiosk Radio will stream from some of the most iconic music spots in Brussels for 10 Mondays throughout the whole summer. The tour will start from C12 on 29 June and follow with VK on 6 July, Listen! Festival x Buda Brussels on 13 July, Fuse on 20 July, Crevette Records on 27 July, FFORMATT on 17 August, Ancienne Belgique on 24 August, Botanique on 31 August, Beursschouwburg on 14 September and finally Les Atelier Claus on 21 September.
The live streams will showcase local talent, including both live concerts and DJ sets. Among the artists involved Aksak Maboul, Rheinzand, DC Salas, Paul Seul, Yamila, Lyna, Cleveland, Lawrence Le Doux, Border One, Borokov Borokov, Phil Back D, Naomie Klaus, Caroline Profanter, Ben Bertrand, Simon Halsberghe, Rokia Bamba and many more.
During the free live broadcasts - available on the partners’ Facebook pages and on www.kioskradio.com - the audience will be called to support the different clubs and concert venues involved by purchasing vouchers to be exchanged with concert tickets or club nights as soon as the National Council’s health measures will allow them.
Be ready to show support and tune in each Monday from 4pm to 8pm!!
The project is supported by the City of Brussels, the Brussels-Capital Region, visit.brussels and the Flemish Community Commission (VGC).
