Long time friends, Ben Sluijs and Pascal Mohy have played together for a few years now. Throughout this time, they found an intimate dialogue between saxophone and piano, traveling through a repertoire of original compositions as well as pieces by Duke Ellington, Jackie McLean and many others. Ben Sluijs’s sinuous lines guide this duo towards effervescent music. Pascal Mohy’s delicate touch brings them back towards a more meditative ambiance, where the sax’s harrowing notes almost seem suspended… Their music leads the spectator to gingerly, yet simply, stroll along a painting gallery, without a single constraint for the musicians, if not being themselves.
