As part of our Uncivil Society project, which zeroes in on racist violence and right-wing terror from a European perspective, the Goethe-Institut Brussels and LaVallée present Offener Prozess (“Reappraisal/Open Trial”).

The point of departure for this exhibition is the National Socialist Underground (NSU), a neo-Nazi terrorist network that murdered ten people in Germany in the 2000s. The exhibition begins with the history of immigration and of resistance to right-wing and racist violence, and uses a "living memory" approach to bring marginalized perspectives into focus. It also takes aim at various forms of structural and institutional racism.

It also points up ways of addressing the problems of widespread structural racism and armed right-wing groups here in Belgium.
