14:00: guided tour FR/NL (max. 30)
Since 2007, Jacopo Baboni Schilingi has composed his music on bodies both male and female, inspired by energy, aura, heartbeat, the breathing of the body and skin texture which in fact is an intimate participant of the musical creation. Bodyscore is a performance of this practice. It will take place at two moments in two spaces. The first moment involves writing where the audience is invited to come, stay awhile or simply pass by, and may observe the composer working in real time. A video will accompany this part describing the Bodyscore project and is complemented by moments of text – Jacopo Baboni Schilingi’s manifesto of this project. Then comes the second moment in another space. Darkness is the theme. The audience must wear masks. A singer enters the stage to join the model about whom the music is written. With the aid of a flashlight, he reads the notes on the body and sings the composed score. The music brings reality before our eyes, mixing the model’s body, the singer’s voice and the beauty of calligraphy into an ultimate artistic gesture.
