Built by engineer André Waterkeyn in 1958, the Atomium was constructed specifically for Expo 58 and was never meant to stay permanently. However, in 2006 the monument, that is inspired by the structure of an iron crystal, was renovated and since then has welcomed 600,000 visitors per year. If you chose the Atomium option with your Brussels Card, you can cut the first line at the Atomium purchase desk and can directly head to the entrance gates. Just scan the QR code of your Brussels Card to enter. Enjoy your visit!
