The Royal Library of Belgium - renamed KBR - is the national scientific library, and it collects all Belgian publications. The institution preserves, manages and studies more than 8 million documents, a rich cultural and historical heritage. This collection can be consulted in the reading rooms or viewed during temporary exhibitions, which take place in the 18th century Palace of Charles of Lorraine, a part of the KBR building. 18 September 2020 will see the opening of the KBR museum, which will host the unique and fascinating collection of manuscripts from the Library of the Dukes of Burgundy (15th century), one of the most prestigious libraries in the Western world.
